Pennsylvania Bluestone
(1-2) Project site photo of stacked flagstone replacements—otherwise known as Pennsylvania Bluestone—needed for the partial restoration of a historic driveway that had been severely damaged by constant vehicle traffic, unsympathetic repairs, salt crystallization, and years of freeze-thaw erosion. Note: given that 6" or thicker slabs of flagstone were not commercially available at local quarries, we had to visit and then commission a regional quarry operator, in upstate Pennsylvania, to procure suitable replacements—which we later cut to dimension, on-site.
